JRC ECDIS MULTI-MODEL OPERATIONAL FAMILIARIZATION TRAINING
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This theory-and-simulation course provides operational familiarization and model-difference awareness for JRC ECDIS Legacy and MFD families. It covers controls, ENC management, safety settings, route planning and monitoring, sensor integration, alerts, failures, and backup procedures.
Upon completion, participants should be able to:
* Recognize key JRC ECDIS controls and model differences.
* Apply appropriate chart display and safety settings.
* Verify ENC permits, updates, routes, and sensor information.
* Conduct route planning, validation, and monitoring safely.
* Respond appropriately to alerts, equipment failures, and abnormal conditions.
* Explain ECDIS limitations and the need for onboard familiarization.
This course supports theory-and-simulation familiarization and does not replace approved generic ECDIS training or practical familiarization on the actual onboard equipment.
